Nepal,
lying between the two Asian giants---China and
India, extents approximately 885 Km. East to
west, and 193 Km (average)
north to south. Spread over an area of
147, 181Sq .Km, the country is between known for
magnificent medieval monuments, Mt. Everest
(8,850.), the highest point on the earth, and
Lumbini, the birthplace of
Lord Buddha. Nepal is home to some 20
million people as varied as the terrain in which
they live, with over 35 different tribal and
ethnic groups both Buddhist and Hindu. These
ancient religions coexist in the Kathmandu
valley and occasionally overlap their influence
evident by the numerous shrines, temples and
prayer walls. TREKKING
IN NEPAL Trekking
in Nepal means Walking trip following trains
since many years. Nepalese uses some of the
trekking trails for everyday travel and trade.
Trekking trip can be any length you choose-there
are popular short treks of 3 or 4 days or there
are longer treks lasting from a week to a month.
Trekking in Nepal offers some of the most
spectacular and beautiful scenery in the world.
Nepal has a near monopoly on the world's highest
peaks-eight of
the 10 highest are found in Nepal and a
number of the popular trekking routes offer you
wonderful views. The
mountains may be the most obvious scenic
attraction, but trekkers soon find there
are plenty of other treats for the eye.
The hill country in offer breathtakingly
beautiful with pretty little villages,
attractive houses, neat fields and interesting
temples. As you climb higher the semitropical
lowlands give way to meadows, stretches of
forest, swift following rivers and deep canyons
before you reach the cold and often barren
regions at the foot of the great peaks. The
views change with the seasons, where it is the
cycle of planting and harvesting or the
brilliant displays of wild flowers late in the
spring season. The
people : Nepal is a country
of contrasts and this extends to the
people as well as the landscape. Trekking in
Nepal is not like hiking through the
often-uninhabited countryside of a
North America, Australia or European
National park.
People are constantly passing by
on the trails, and along
many
routes there are regularly
spoiled villages to pause in. The
villages and their people can be as interesting
as scenery, as you meet people from many
of Nepal's wide diversity of ethnic groups. Trekking
Season The
best time to trekking in Nepal is from October
to May (the cold season is January and February)
and the worst time is from June to September
(the monsoon). The
3 months of the autumn season, October, November
and December are the best period for trekking in
Nepal. The air freshly washed by the monsoon
rains in crystal clear, the mountain scenery is
superb and the weather is comfortably warm. January
and February are still good months for trekking
in low altitude but the cold can be bitter at
high altitudes. Greeting up to above 5000m, can
be a rear endurance test of cold freezing. March
and April, the spring season is a second-best
time. The weather gets warmer and Nepal's
wonderful rhododendron and other flowers are in
bloom so there's plenty of colour to be seen in
the trekking trails. By
May it is getting very hot, dusty and humid, and
the monsoon is definitely just round the corner
from June to September trails can be slippery
due to the monsoon rains and raging rivers ash
away winter bridges and stretches of trails. What
is Lodge Trek Lodge
trek means that you will be accommodate in Motel
or Lodge and to eat in the same lodge's
restaurant. Your guide will arrange a good
quality lodge and you choose the menu for your
meals. The porter will carry your luggage except
what you need for the walking days. There are
quite comfortable lodges and nice food available
in the Everest, Annapurna and Langtang region,
so that lodge treks are becoming more popular in
these areas. What
is Camping Trek Camping
trek means a full organize trekking with all
camping and cooking gears, food & beverage,
sleep in tents and dinning tent, folding tables
and chairs to have dinner and to join and enjoy
together with other participants and Nepalese
crew. Our professional guides take care entire
of the team and our trained and professional
cook and his assistants prepare hygienic meals.
All camping gears, your baggage and other
supplies to be carried by porters and pack
animals. Camping treks are more popular and
important where there are not available lodging
and food facilities in the remote areas. LODGE TREKS (Tea House Treks) For those clients who do not wish to sleep in tents, we offer lodge treks. While lodge treks are possible in Annapurna, Everest and Langtang region, it is not possible in Mustang and other regions as there are commercial lodges in such areas. As it is not possible to book these lodges in advance from Kathmandu due to lack of communication facilities, our Sherpa guide will look for the lodge as soon as they arrive the designated village stop. Our guide will always try to get the best available lodges for our clients. However, if the good lodges are already reserved or not available, he will be compelled to accommodate clients at other lodges. All the lodges are very basic in standard and may not have proper shower/toilet facilities. Moreover, during high season, the clients may be accommodated in dormitories in case all the lodged are completely sold out. All
meals will be provided in the same lodges cooked
by the lodge owners during trek. The food could
be simple, with less variety but enough. Our
team for the lodge trekking will consist of a
Sherpa guide (Sirdar) and porters (as per
requirement). If the group size is large, we
provide additional Sherpas to assist clients and
the Sirdar. The clients must be pre-informed of
all the above points clearly before accepting
bookings for lodge treks. Trek permits, National park, Conservation fees & insurance National
Park and Conservation Fees are usually included
in our trek costs. As per the recent government
regulation, trek permits are not required to
trek through Langtang, Everest and Annapurna
regions. Restricted area trek permits (e.g.:
Upper Dolpo & Upper Mustang Permit) are
expensive and hence always quoted separately.
There is an entrance fee of US$100 per video
camera in all National Parks and is hence
payable directly. Personal insurance of any nature is not covered in the prices quoted by us. The emergency evacuation costs, video fees in National Parks (US$ 100 per video) are not included in our trek costs. Similarly, costs for soft/hard drinks, snacks, tea/coffee (other than those provided by our team), charges for pony/yak rides etc; are to be settled directly on the spot. Conservation Nepal's fragile mountain environment is increasingly pressured by a rapidly growing population. As visitors, it’s our responsibility to minimize our impact. Deforestation is Nepal's greatest environment problem. We use kerosene as an alternative to wood on all treks. We do not have campfires & we strongly discourage trekkers from buying wood-fueled hot showers in lodges along the trail. It is our responsibility to minimize our impact. |
