Trekking Itinerary for Round Annapurna

The circuit of the gigantic Annapurna range via high altitude valley of Manang has become one of the superior treks in Nepal.  In this trek our trail leads from lowland to highland crossing rivers, mountain passes, alpine forests and meadows, holy places and along ancient trade route. Nowhere in Nepal can you experience such a wide diversity of human culture, climate and landscape.

At the head of the Manang Valley rise the Thorung La (5416m.), highest point of this trek marked by two large cairns with prayer flags flying, from its crest superb views unfolds; west towards Dhaulagiri, south to a cluster of snow peaks and north towards the Tibetan plateau. We descend via a sacred pilgrimage center for both Bhudhist and Hindus, Muktinath (3802m.) into the Kali Gandaki gorge, twice as deep as the Grand Canyon, and home to Thakali, Newars, Chetris and Gurungs.    Pokhara lakeside, beneath Machapuchare provides a fitting end to this classic Himalayan trek.
